Have you heard about Papua New Guinea?

This bit of news is so exciting to me. In short, biologists and other assorted scientists ventured into a volcanic crater in PNG and discovered at least 40 never before documented species of plants & animals. Fanged frogs,a grunting fish, a rat that may be the largest in the world, huge birds of paradise, and all of them haven't been encumbered by any significant human impact in what scientists are saying is like 200,000 yrs! Since the last time the volcano erupted this flora & fauna has been evolving all by itself. No scientific team is thought to ever have gone there before. As small as this world is said to be and getting smaller there still are truly wild places. That's exhilarating!
